The chances of a successful takeover in IT are very promising
A dual study program means gaining practical experience while learning relevant theoretical content at university. Dominik took advantage of this opportunity and is now starting out as a software developer at Viessmann Climate Solutions.

Dominik’s enthusiasm for Viessmann Climate Solutions began during a one-year internship that he completed for his vocational baccalaureate in 2018. “The internship showed me that the work is not only fun, but also the company can be an excellent employer”, he says. Based on this positive experience, Dominik began his dual studies in software technology at the University of Applied Science (THM) in August 2020. After graduating in January 2024, he immediately received a permanent employment contract as a Full Stack Developer in the Product Information Management (PIM) department. “In the IT-department and with global market leaders like Viessmann Climate Solutions, the chances of being taken are very good”, says Dominik.
It’s hugely motivating to work on projects that have a direct impact on the customer experience.
Dual students work in different teams and gain insights into many areas of the company. Dominik was able to gain extensive experience from software development to structural modeling. He was significantly involved in the development of back-end and front-end solutions for new projects. He particularly enjoyed working in the PIM team, where he was involved in the design of product configurators for customers. “It’s hugely motivating to work on projects that have a direct impact on the customer experience”, says Dominik.
Team-oriented corporate culture
Dominik raves about the productive team atmosphere. “It’s just great how everyone works with focus and remains relaxed”, he says. Since his permanent position, both his areas of responsibility and the trust in him have grown. He is now part of a team of seven working on the development of customer tools. “Successfully implementing projects that work and generate satisfaction is incredibly motivating “, explains the youngest member of the team.
Every day brings new challenges, but also new opportunities.
For graduates like Dominik, Viessmann Climate Solutions offers the opportunity to pursue a specialist or management career. The software developer appreciates the wide range of further training opportunities, such as training courses or online courses on programming languages, which help him to keep up to date with the latest technology. “Every day brings new challenges, but also new opportunities”, he says.
