Complete heat pump package in the starting blocks

Osnabrück, 5.12.2024 – When does a heat pump make sense? Who can I turn to, who coordinates planning and installation and which electricity tariff is the right one? A new complete heat pump package from Stadtwerke Osnabrück offers answers and solutions for private households. To this end, the energy supplier is cooperating with Viessmann Climate Solutions and local tradespeople.

“Many homeowners and builders are looking into the question of future heating using heat pumps - and want a central point of contact who will take care of all the tasks,” explains Jan-Hendrik Funke, Head of Energy at Stadtwerke Osnabrück. This is precisely where the new heat pump model, which is being launched with immediate effect, comes in. The central gateway is the website www.swo.de/waermepumpe, where interested parties can initially enter their heating requirements and wishes as well as specific building details. With this information, the municipal utilities and Viessmann provide an individual initial consultation. Specialist planning and installation, as well as service and maintenance if required, are the responsibility of a local installation company. The municipal utilities then complete the package with a suitable electricity tariff.

Personal service on site

“Customers benefit from a convenient complete solution involving local tradespeople,” emphasizes Dirk Barkhüser, head of the Osnabrück-Stadt HVAC guild. The regional guild companies not only know the Viessmann products, but also the needs and requirements on site in Osnabrück - and can therefore provide individual and tailor-made advice, planning and implementation. The cooperation ensures that the customer has personal service and contact on site at all times. “With the 'all-round carefree package' including a quality product, the customer doesn't have to worry about a thing,” adds Norbert Neuhaus, Head of Sales for Energy Supply Companies at Viessmann Climate Solutions.

Expansion of the complete package planned

Switching to an efficient heat pump offers several advantages: Customers become independent of fossil fuels and their price fluctuations and can therefore reduce their heating costs in the long term. The technology is also future-proof. “Heat pumps will play a central role in the future heat supply in the city of Osnabrück,” says Stadtwerke's Head of Energy Funke, describing the importance of heat pumps. “Our new complete package thus supports the joint climate targets that are anchored in the city's pioneering climate protection concept.” Stadtwerke is therefore already considering expanding the complete package to include other components such as a PV system, storage unit or wallbox.
