Shorter delivery times coming soon: Viessmann expands production for electricity storage system
Viessmann Climate Solutions SE, one of the first movers in the development and production of stationary electricity storage systems, will increase production of the Vitocharge VX3 electricity storage system fivefold this year. For this purpose, the existing series production in Faulquemont, France, will be expanded by two additional assembly lines.
Faulquemont / Allendorf (Eder), Feb 22, 2023 – Viessmann Climate Solutions SE is one of the leading providers for energy and climate solutions in buildings and is also a first mover in the development and production of stationary electricity storage systems. The company will significantly expand its production capacity for the Vitocharge VX3 electricity storage system this year. Two additional lines will be added to the existing series production facility in Faulquemont, France, and the number of units produced will be increased fivefold through a higher degree of automation. Viessmann has thus taken another step forward in line with its corporate mission statement: “We create living spaces for generations to come.” The EUR 8 million plus investment is an important part of the record investment of EUR 1 billion in the expansion of heat pumps and other green climate solutions announced last spring.
Shorter delivery times
“The expansion will enable us to noticeably shorten delivery times for the Vitocharge VX3 electricity storage system and satisfy the significantly increased demand for this technology much faster,” explains Dr. Frank Voßloh, Managing Director of Viessmann Deutschland GmbH. He adds that interest in a comprehensive and sustainable complete solution consisting of a photovoltaic system with an electricity storage system, a heat pump and a wallbox for charging electric vehicles has grown significantly among many homeowners. The main reason for this is greater independence from external energy suppliers and rising energy prices. “Only an electricity storage system makes such a system perfect, because self-generated electricity can also be used in the evening and night hours and the purchase of mains current can be minimized,” says Voßloh.
Latest technology – 100% made by Viessmann
The Vitocharge VX3 electricity storage system gives homeowners the opportunity to store electricity generated by their photovoltaic system and thus use it more efficiently. The new three-phase Vitocharge VX3 can handle PV input power up to 12 kWp. There are also versions that can handle 5, 10 or 15 kWh in battery power. Depending on the connection type and parameterization, Vitocharge VX3 can be used as a hybrid electricity storage system with a new photovoltaic (PV) system, as an electricity storage system with an existing PV inverter or as a pure PV inverter in the case of the Vitocharge VX3 top module.
Viessmann One Base makes it possible to seamlessly combine the electric storage system with Vitovolt photovoltaic systems, Vitocal heat pumps and Vitoair ventilation systems, as well as with digital services such as the ViCare app and the ViGuide service tool. The hybrid electricity storage system can be conveniently controlled using the energy management features of the ViCare app. In this way it is possible to visualize the energy flows of Vitocharge VX3 and other system components of the overall system while also optimizing the mode of operation.
