Production for large heat pump Vitocal 250-A PRO launched in Berlin
With the start of production of the Vitocal 250-A PRO at the Viessmann Climate Solutions plant in Berlin, another regenerative energy system is now available for residential, light commercial and communal buildings.
Berlin/Allendorf (Eder), 17.06.2024 – The use of renewable energies is also becoming increasingly popular in larger single-family homes and multi-family houses, resulting in a growing demand for heat pumps. Viessmann Climate Solutions, a company of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), leading provider of intelligent climate and energy solutions, has set up a new production line for the Vitocal 250-A PRO large heat pump at its Berlin site.
"With the Vitocal 250-A PRO air/water heat pump, we can fulfill the individual project requirements of larger residential and commercial buildings. The compact monobloc heat pump is a real 'all-rounder', as it heats, cools and produces hot water," explains Dr. Markus Plewa, Product Line Owner Commercial Heat Pumps at Viessmann Climate Solutions.
With the investment in a new production line, the company is also accelerating the transformation from fossil fuels to renewable energy solutions in the commercial sector. With the Vitocal 250-A PRO large heat pump, the increasing demand for renewable energy systems for the larger output range can now be met even better.
One of the quietest heat pumps of its kind
The ventilator is sound-optimized and works with intelligent speed control, which ensures a significant reduction in airborne noise in full and partial load operation. Thanks to the extensive development work in the Viessmann sound laboratory, one of the most modern sound laboratories in Europe, the heat pump's ventilator and compressor are remarkably quiet. This is why the Vitocal 250-A PRO is one of the quietest of its kind with 60.9 dB(A) in noise-reduced operation. This means that the outdoor units can also be easily installed in dense development areas or close to the property boundary.
A scroll compressor with infinitely variable output adjustment and electronic expansion valves ensure flow temperatures of up to 70 °C with very high efficiency and therefore low consumption costs. One appliance generates up to 39.5 kW heating output.
Indoor unit with numerous functions
The Vitocal 250-A PRO indoor unit offers numerous functions. Up to three mixed heating/refrigeration circuits and a seasonal buffer cylinder are already included. Hot water can be generated using a cylinder charging system or with a cylinder charging pump. Instead of a DHW cylinder, the Vitotrans 353 fresh water station can also be used, which generates DHW using the instantaneous DHW principle. If required, an additional heat generator can be integrated to cover peak loads.
Simple integration into building management systems
The integration of the Vitocal 250-A PRO into the building management system is another plus point: this enables the heat pump and hydraulic system to be monitored and controlled from a central control room.
The standard BACnet/IP or Modbus TCP/IP connection enables external control and monitoring of all key values. Alternatively, hardware contacts are available for external control.
Honored with the iF Gold Design Award 2024
Based on the award-winning Viessmann heat pump design for residential buildings, the Vitocal 250-A PRO sets new aesthetic standards in the large heat pump product category. It has now been honoured with the iF Gold Design Award 2024 for its outstanding design. The iF Design Award is presented once a year and is one of the most prestigious design prizes in the world.
