The special feature: The “Daheim am Start” format does not primarily show what the athletes do to be successful on the cross-country ski trail or the ski jump. Rather, it is about how the pursuit of perfection also permeates “normal life”. Karl Geiger, six-time world champion in ski flying and ski jumping team competitions, is someone who is always looking for the perfect interplay of all components, which is so important in top-class sport, in everyday life too. The new campaign describes how he has found a sustainable energy supply option for his 1958 house near Oberstdorf with a pioneering system consisting of a heat pump, photovoltaics and electricity storage, thus making an active contribution to climate protection. Geiger's father, who owns a carpentry business, also made an important contribution to the ambitious project.

Three athletes and their personal projects

In addition to Karl Geiger, an episode of the series is also dedicated to biathlon Olympic and world champion Denise Herrmann-Wick. She has ended her impressive career, which was crowned with Olympic and world championship titles, but is still active as a Viessmann brand ambassador. Together with her husband, she has built a house in Ruhpolding, her adopted home, for which she - especially as a young mother - places high demands on sustainability and climate protection.
