What's important to me

It’s important to me to stay healthy so I can enjoy the biathlon for as long as possible.

Career

Danilo becomes a member of the Hasselfelde ski club at just six years old. Though he’s a keen mountain biker early on, in winter he’s frequently out on his skis. Danilo has contact with the biathletes at Sonnenberg through his regular training and soon takes part in a trial training session. In 2011 he joins WSV Clausthal-Zellerfeld and moves into the adjoining ski academy. Shortly afterwards, he is a fixture at international competitions and at the Junior World Championships, where he performs well and begins collecting medals. In 2020 he becomes the junior world champion in Lenzerheide. A year later, he takes part in the European Championships in Duszniki-Zdroj and finishes in the top 15 in the sprint race. After a few years in which he can gain experience in the IBU Cup, Danilo will celebrate his World Cup debut in Antholz in 2024.

Junior world champion

After a few appearances and good results in the IBU Cup, Danilo secures two medals at the Junior World Championships in Lenzerheide. As the anchor in the relay, he confidently leads his team to a silver medal. He does one even better in the pursuit, where his strong run and flawless last shooting bout earn him a gold medal. He thus secures the title of junior world champion.
