Career
Johanna started cross-country skiing at a young age and later switched to biathlon. A good decision, as it soon turns out. The SC Bayrischzell athletes train at the base in Ruhpolding in Andreas Birnbacher's training group. In 2020, she makes her international debut at the Youth World Championships in Lenzerheide and wins bronze with the relay team. The following year, she won silver in the relay at the Junior World Championships in Soldier Hollow and added two gold medals to her medal collection in the mixed relay and relay in 2023. In the 2023/24 season, Johanna secured her first victory in the IBU Cup, was nominated for the World Cup shortly afterwards and made her debut in Lenzerheide.
High flyer
In the 2021/22 season, Johanna joins the DSV junior squad and becomes part of the Viessmann Team. Over the years, she collects three medals at Junior World Championships, including two gold medals. At the start of the 2023/24 season, she makes her debut in the IBU Cup, secures her first victory in one of her first races and is nominated for the World Cup shortly afterwards. There she makes her debut in the sprint in Lenzerheide and becomes an integral part of the World Cup team over the course of the season. At the Biathlon World Championships in Nove Mesto, she takes part as a substitute.
